With the completion of the new Apple Park the company may find it difficult to instil a sense of ownership of it across the wider Apple community.
Our concept is to create a large scale, iconic sculpture of an apple that reflects the values inherent in Apple's products and business.
A key feature involves turning the building of the sculpture into an experience with the potential to draw the wider Apple community into a strong sense of ownership and inclusion of the Apple park.
An Apple for Apple
A concept inspired by an existing work from Sculptor Shane Woolridge.
An Apple for Apple
Innovation. Simplicity. Beauty.
“Its been one of my mantras - focus and simplicity. Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple.”
Each Apple office could submit a local stone to be included around the circumference of the sculpture in a featured ring symbolising the global nature of Apple's business.
Each local stone could be etched with an icon that would activate an augmented reality application displaying information about each operating company and the country it operates in.
The scale of the sculpture would be sufficient to include a large sealed time capsule containing information not only about Apple as a global company but also it's people and products and perhaps information about the building of Apple Park. Each country could provide information for inclusion.
People walking by could select and place a stone in the sculpture as a permanent reminder of their involvement in the company.
The Sculpture will also become a focal point for photography for visitors to the Apple Park.
Great works of art can define a place
“Great works of art can enhance even the most beautiful environment.
They effectively become the exclamation mark on beauty, even enhancing nature's perfection.”
The sculpture is the perfect metaphor for the values Apple holds dear in its products and business. Innovation. Simplicity. Beauty.
These traditional values are enhanced by the 250 million year old rock and the three dimensional form of the sculpture symbolising the enduring and multi-dimensional nature of Apple's business.

We'd love to hear from you.
We propose a collaboration between Apple and the sculptor to determine the most appropriate scale and positioning of the piece such that its elegance & simplicity beautifully compliments the overall site.
Ideally the sculpture should match the scale and grandeur of the building and would be built on site. A sculpture in excess of 4.5 metres high would consist of over 12,000 carefully selected and worked stones.
